Dolcepunta was founded in 1999 in Pescara, Italy, by Rolando Scapellato, an artisan who had already spent three decades making ties by hand. He started Dolcepunta to pass on everything he had learned, and to bring a touch of contemporary elegance to a traditional craft.
Today his children, Monica and Massimo Scapellato, run the family business. The same hands still cut, fold and finish every piece, and our ties are now worn by customers in Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and beyond.
Every Dolcepunta piece is cut and sewn by hand in our atelier in Pescara. Most of our ties are made in 100% silk, in woven silk, printed satin, printed twill and grenadine, with seasonal pieces in cashmere and wool. Pocket squares are finished with hand rolled edges.
We make ties in several constructions: the classic 3-fold, the 7-fold and unlined 7-fold, where more silk gives the tie its body, and the rare 11-fold.
You can buy a finished piece from our Ready To Wear collection, or order Made to Measure: choose the fabric, then the construction, length and width, contrast colours and handmade monograms, and we make it for you.
